artemisia absinthium

There are a few essential oil vendors that carry oil of wormwood, but
ideally one would want to extract the thujone (active constituent of
absinthe besides the alcohol) from the other contents of the oil before
adding to any Pernod or similar liqueur. My car's frozen in so I can't
get to the library to look up the actual chemical breakdown of the
contents of the oil. I checked on the AGIS database but couldn't get a
percentage breakdown.

There was an excellent article in Scientific American a few years ago,
and a book that did a decent coverage of the Absinthe phenomena called
'Absinthe: History in a Bottle'.
