not "all along". there have been numerous references to the AA
as unofficially related to the (c)OTO by OTO members in the recent 
past within rather public archives. in fact, the article "Consider
the Source" in the biannual newsletter of OTO ("Magical Link",
page 10) is a clear statement from the head of the O.T.O. that
"a resigned O.T.O. officer" created "the Temple of Thelema,
an occult group in Los Angeles" which "purports to act as a
training group for the A.'.A.'.

moreover, there are many obvious even public dual-memberships
between O.T.O. and a variety of A.'.A.'. or A.'.A.'.-related
groups, of which the T.O.T. is only one among many. while it
may be technically correct that officials of the O.T.O. have
not specified a FORMAL relationship between the two (or more)
orders, there has been an INFORMAL relationship between the
two since Crowley and his cohorts created the A.'.A.'. and he
wrote his "One Star in Sight" describing his vision of how it
ought be organized (cf. the back of Dover's "Magick in Theory
and Practice" if not other "Book Four: Liber ABBA" publishings).

this informal relationship has been the cause of internal order
conflict as loyalists to the previous Caliph (Hymenaeus Alpha,
aka Grady McMurtry) in CA have been placed in the hotseat
concerning their A.'.A.'. affiliations (because the CA and NY
factions support different A.'.A.'. lineages) by the NY officials
(notably Hymenaeus Beta). whether or not these conflicts come
to resolution (as has apparently come to pass with the
periodical 'The Red Flame' published by the Corneliuses; cf.
http://cornelius93.homestead.com/misc.html especially the
epistles regarding expulsion, parts I, II, and III) is of no
consequence to the real problems that A.'.A.'. rivalries are
causing to the integrity and composure of the (c)OTO.
