To: alt.magick.tyagi,alt.magick,alt.magick.order From: tyagi@houseofkaos.abyss.com (nagasiva) Subject: LAHussey: The Evul Book and Comment Date: 27 May 1997 20:07:19 -0700 [from thelema93-l@hollyfeld.org: Leigh Ann Hussey] 93! Rodney [Orpheus] wrote: > It's my understanding that it is for these reasons that OTO discourages > its initiates to openly interpet Liber AL for others, even (and possibly > especially) in small groups. I've been following this thread with interest, since I recently pointed a friend of mine to one of the URLs where Lib. AL lives on the net, and she, too, had questions about the Comment. Rodney's note above gave me a sudden insight about the following phrase: > All questions of the Law are to be decided only by appeal to my writings, each for himself. The "each for himself" bit is the key one here; it seems to support Rodney's rationale for discouraging discussion of Lib. AL. Me, I rather like being a Centre of Pestilence, but I'm strange that way... Oh, and by the way, there is a loophole vis-a-vis the study of the "Evul Book": > Whosoever disregards this does so at his own risk and peril. The Surgeon General's warning on a pack of cigarettes doesn't fend off the people who already smoke... I do lots of risky things every day; and truly perilous things every now and again too. Riding a motorcycle is managed risk. So is studying Lib. AL. And ultimately, even the Comment says "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law." If I Will study Lib. AL, then no other shall say me nay, not even Uncle Al's HGA. 93 93/93, - Leigh Ann
