[quoting a Doubt-Goat-doubter (horrors!):] |>...what is the *real* reason that the neophyte's robe had a pentagram |>on the front and a hexagram on the back? |A prelude to 5=6? Would this mean that one would have to wear it |backwards when one reached 6=5? The Ritual of the Inner Adept * or * The Greater Summoning Ritual of the Qliphotic Daemon Standing on Tiphareth with my back to the Abyss, a Hexagram of Unity lies behind me, for I am the Guardian of the Threshold, the Walker between the Worlds of Darkness and Light, Birth and Death, Slumber and Wakefulness. Standing on Tiphareth with the Veil of Paroketh before me, a Pentagram of Diversity lies in my sights, for I am the Keeper of the Mysteries of the Deep Ones, the Watcher of the Multiverse, the Cosmos, my Home. Oh Hexagram of Unity, help me preserve the ineffable perfection of emptiness which pervades your extent, the conflagration of empty I's, those shells of perversity forming the Beast Behind the Door of Da'ath. Oh Pentagram of Diversity, see me through the purgation and horrible disorientation, as Thus-Gone, I weave the majesty of the Foundation out of the disemboweled corpses of archangels and gods, fallen all. Splendor of splendors, Mystery of mysteries, let me come to Know the Great Work, the Summum Bonum, True Wisdom and Perfect Happiness; let me realize the validity of that ne'er quoted maxim, as behind, so before. Yea, let me realize the validity. As behind, so before. (c) 1994 tyagi nagasiva |Possibly, in ritual, East-facing officers would be able to see the |Macrocosm "in front" of them, and turn their head to see the Microcosm |"behind" them, all on each others' robes. This kind of sensory overload |seems injected into much GD ritual, and seems to has a powerful effect |on the candidate. A fascinating comparison, I'd say. I do so love ritual magick without ceremony. :> tyagi@houseofkaos.abyss.com
