cultist.

"Asiya" :
>And what does it mean exactly to accept the Book of the Law?

beware, inquirer!
for the Crowleyite cultists are everywhere seeking to ensnare your mind.

to the vulgar, 'the Book of the Law' might include some kind of sacred
writ of divine origin ordained by the god(s) as a reference for social
conduct (e.g. legal, but also probably religious liturgy in some aspect).
I've occasionally heard the contention that 'Torah' means 'Law' and that
the Five Books of Moses revered by faithful Jews might therefore be
called a Book of the Law.

to the cultist, "acceptance of the Book of the Law" usually has something
to do with questionably valuable loyalty to a book penned by the notorious
Aleister Crowley and festering like an open wound in the mess he left in
his wake ("Liber Al vel Legis", "The Book of the Law"). it is used as a
Volume of Sacred Law (neo-masonic) in the OTO. emulating a bowel movement,
the intelligent cultist makes a hasty exit from any but the most reliable
of kindred wrapped up in such dramas. accepting books in this sense bears
the marks of either slavery or indoctrination.

to the adept, the Book of the Law is reality as we know it. accepting
things for what they are (rather than foolishly believing in fantasies
or trying to deny what the preponderance of evidence supports) is simply
the most rational course available to the philosopher and mage.
