mu explains a favored perspective:

"Roberti, Anthony" :
# > # ...you mean the A.'.A.'. in a transcendent sense, as opposed to

mu:
# > I don't know that the transcendental AA is opposed to any human

# > orgs are a part of the [universal] Current, and this includes any of
# > the organizations which call themselves "A.'.A.'." and "Thelemic".

"Roberti, Anthony" :
# ...When you say that the A.'.A.'. is the only means by which spiritual
# development takes place, are you refering to the thelemic organization
# of A.'.A.'.?

all manifestations of the Celestial Masters, whether the AA or some
other partially or wholly human enterprise, operate entirely based
on Thelemic principles. Aleister Crowley didn't give birth to the Law
of Thelema and the scripture of his cult is an incidental in the long
and varied history of inspired and revelatory text. it serves him
and his cultists well.

# OR are you refering to the "transcendental" A.'.A.'. and the
# operations of the Secret Chiefs thereof?

the transcendental AA, by whatever name, may or may not be
entirely comprised of the Secret Chiefs. for all I know they
are merely a subset of the operational cadre which forms the
world wide and long-lasting spiritual mechanism by which
humans are being influenced toward maturity.

when I say "AA is the only means by which spiritual development
takes place" I am talking about the transcendental AA, which
may or may not overlap any so called "Thelemic" human
organizations that see fit to use the same name. those who say
that the human AA is "Thelemic" betray that lineage's arrogance.
it is perhaps comparable to claiming one is a Rosicrucian.

# If you mean the former, how did spiritual development take
# place prior to 1904 ev?

calling the spiritual anarchracy of the human species by a
new name and providing a clever description has been done
so many times that we should really not be surprised when a
mystic sees fit to follow suit. Crowley's version which he
called "the Secret Chiefs" and "the A.'.A.'." was in part a
co-option of (/revenge upon) the Golden Dawn and the
Rosicrucians, whose status the GD had previously impugned
and co-opted in turn as I understand it.

1904 is merely a number. it has no meaning to anyone who is
viewing the cosmos outside the fantasies and projections of
a number of mystical weirdos. neither did anything super-
natural happen in 'Year 0', nor did anything of cosmic
importance to those beyond Crowleyanity occur nineteen
hundred years afterward.

the AA didn't begin in either year, and the Secret Chiefs
have been influencing the course of human spirituality for
far longer than we can remember. if I decide to call the
AA "The Ordur of Kaos Under Satan" and the Secret Chiefs
"Celestial Masters" this affects them quite as significantly.

blessed beast!
