Can you confirm or deny this? Both are available in VHS and DVD from Amazon.com. And very inexpensive - I think the DVD is about $13 or so. I'd recommend the DVD over VHS in both cases, because both DVDs are in widescreen format, have the original trailers, etc. That's _The Abominable Dr. Phibes_ and _Dr. Phibes Rises Again_. No, Anton had nothing whatever to do with either film, and was not a model for the Vincent Price character any more than he had anything to do with _Rosemary's Baby_. However in many respects the Phibes character had many similarities with nuances of Anton's personality, which I proposed in my _Church of Satan_ history. [It was after reading that, apparently, that Anton began telling people that he had worked on the film, coached Price in the role, etc. All untrue.] The film that Anton *did* work on was _The Devil's Rain_, which is also available on DVD from Amazon at a really nice price - I think around $9 - in widescreen. _DR_ started out as a really ghastly cookieladywitch novel by Maud Willis. Anton massaged every part of the ritual & artistic elements, did the decorations inside the "Redstone" church, taught "basic Enochian" to the Mexican extras, etc. And of course he and his wife Diane appeared in cameos - he as a gold-helmeted high priest, and Diane as Ernest Borgnine's colonial-era wife. >I wonder if they are worth purchasing. Yes, grab 'em before they disappear. Some really stunning films such as _The Keep_ and _The Resurrected_ (the well-done version of HPL's _The Case of Charles Dexter Ward_) are already out of print, apparently. If you see used-cassettes of either of those, grab them too.
