bard covered it well: a kind of reverse-rite of what may be
included in a handfasting (see those online; handparting
rites aren't as popular, just like unweddings aren't -- tho
my sister and I had one when we get a divorce and became
siblings :>).

that depends on what you include as sex and what you think
ought to be included in the aura or energy of a person.
it also depends on the particular people involved. 

for example, typically in a Wiccan rite *symbolic sex is
indeed involved*, with a Chalice and Dagger (Cup/Athame).
if a couple was really serious about their magic they may
well include sex as part of the rite, especially if the
handfasting included sex as part of it.

my guess is that like most unweddings, most will not,
except that if they're doing a Wiccan Great Rite then
sex will at least by symbolized. this arguably involves
the participants deep minds, auras, or whatever you'd
like to think is involved in rituals of this kind, and
so sometimes there is jealousy about circling with
others who might appear to be competition for relations.

since this is a parting you might not think of it that
way, especially since you aren't one of 'the faithful',
as you put it.

that said, I would be interested if I were you in knowing
who else was present at their handfasting and whether the
same people officiating (if any) were going to handpart,
or whether the final rite, so to speak, was going to be 
a simple rite between the divorcing couple.

when sri catyananda and I were mated, prior to the cosmic
Hieros Gamos of the False Millenium we celebrated, we were
given the blessing of our previous mates in a simple
ceremony, and you might also consider whether or not you
should have some part in receiving such a blessing or if
you should not have anything to do with it as it is cast
off of your boyfriend and left behind (getting involved
may in such a case be to your disadvantage).

intends a final tryst of this sort. perhaps he should 
talk with her about what is to be included, do a little
planning, and let you in on any pertinent details?
