Rituals can be powerful with any number, though one will and, with the right people, two or three are very stable. Look into engineering and the dynamics of form. One pillar, two brings polarity, three brings trinitarian unity when properly aligned, etc. How well you two do as a couple will depend much more on your ability to cooperate and communicate than on anything else. When conflict arises, address it directly and don't avoid serious communication if you wish to continue working with one another. |I have also had a Pagan 'friend' tell me that Monogamy is a Christian |attribute and that I was turning my back on my Heritage. What do you |feel on this subject. Within the Western culture monogamy is associated with JCI values. It was probably this about which your Neopagan friend was reacting. I feel that (as many in alt.polyamory will tell you) each of us has our particular needs and it is helpful when I do what I please and leave my neighbor to do as she pleases. If this includes monogamy then so be it. If it does not, fine. Please note that chosen and contracted monogamy is a different experience than preferred monogamy arising out of an open relationship. I find that I am a monogamous due to focus and intensity, not exclusion.
