I can't imagine it would be anything less than excellent given Godwin's
reputation and prior works.

in fact I have "Music, Mysticism and Magic: A Sourcebook", by
Joscelyn Godwin, and I suggest it is not only an essential addition
to one's library on music and ancient writings on it, but also on
the subjects of mysticism and magic (predominantly Hermetic).
notable mentions are: Corpus Hermeticum's "True Knowledge of Music",
Plotinus' "An Explanation of Magic" (to which I shall return later),
Iamblichus' "Pythagorus' Use of Music" and "Music in the Mysteries",
Capella's "The Marvellous Powers of Music", Isaac Loeb Peretz' "The
Kabbalists", Ficino's "The Magical Use of Music", Agrippa's "The Magic
of Words" and "The Magic of Tone", Fludd's "Rosicrucian Music",
Kepler's "The Metaphysics of Harmony", Kircher's "The Ultimate Music",
Kosegarten's "The Harmony of the Spheres", Schopenhauer's "Music as
the Cosmic Will Revealed", Fourier's "The Making of a Talisman" (one
I made for Divination Web but didn't know he'd created it too!),
Steiner's "Music, the Astral World, and Devachan", and Cyril Scott's
"The Beginnings of Music and Religion".

I like Stewart's texts on Merlin and the Underworld. he's quite an
entertaining and thoughtful writer.

is Masonry occultism?
