From: catherine yronwodeSubject: Removal of Sin (was: Re: Three-fold Law (was Re: Marriage Spell Query)) Date: Wed, 03 Feb 1999 12:13:13 -0800 In regard to the question of the three-fold law and karma -- the problem, as always, seems to be one's expectations. Those who work manipulative ("black") magical spells from a cultural context in which such spells are within the limits of the norm do not usually suffer remorse. Those who feel that in performing such a spell they have transgressed a sacred law (e.g. the threefold law of return, the rede, God's laws, etc.) may feel intensely the stain of their guilt. Here's an example, from my own experience; a recent query from email: > I did something terrible. I peformed a spell to break up a couple > so they would not marry. Now I am feeling guilty. I am afraid I have > angered God. Is there anything I can do? Will I be punished? I have > gotten sick and I think my spell-work was the cause. > You told me that people who had done wrong could use the 51st > Psalm and hyssop herb -- how do I use them? Please send the 51st Psalm > and all the info, including shipping options, to order the hyssop > herb -- if I can't find some locally today, I'll order it from you. > Please say a prayer that God will forgive me. > Thanks, Simple stuff first -- i sell hyssop for $2.00 per packet, plus postage and handling. You can order by phone, etc. -- just see our order form at http://www.luckymojo.com/mojocatorder.html Second, here is the spell you requested: ----------------- Spell to remove guilt or sin, for personal cleansing, and to make a plea for forgiveness for transgressions, based on the Biblical injunction in Psalm 51: Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make a weak tea of hyssop herb and strain it to use as bath-water. Use only spring water, ocean water, river water, rain water, or -- if these are not available -- tap water to which you have added your own tears of regret and remorse. Light two white candles. Stand between the candles and pour the hyssop bath over yourself while reciting the 51st Psalm. When you are done, carry the remnants of the bath water to a crossroads, throw it over your shoulder to the east, walk away, and don't look back. ------------------ Psalm 51 1: Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. 2: Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. 3: For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. 4: Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. 5: Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. 6: Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. 7: Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 8: Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. 9: Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. 10: Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. 11: Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. 12: Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. 13: Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee. 14: Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness. 15: O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise. 16: For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. 17: The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. 18: Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem. 19: Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar. ------------- Good luck to you, catherine yronwode Lucky Mojo Curio Co: http://www.luckymojo.com/luckymojocatalogue.html The Lucky W Amulet Archive: http://www.luckymojo.com/luckyw.html Sacred Sex: http://www.luckymojo.com/sacredsex.html The Sacred Landscape: http://www.luckymojo.com/sacredland.html Freemasonry for Women: http://www.luckymojo.com/comasonry.html Comics Warehouse: http://www.luckymojo.com/comicswarehouse.html check out news:alt.lucky.w for discussions on folk magic and luck A.K. wrote: > > On Wed, 3 Feb 1999, catherine yronwode wrote: > > > Spell to remove guilt or sin, for personal cleansing, > > and to make a plea for forgiveness for transgressions, > > based on the Biblical injunction in Psalm 51: > > > Did you get this from the Greater Key of Solomon? It sounds like a > simplified version of one of the (many) purifications found there. > > Agnieszka I got this spell from an African-American woman who was a customer in a spiritual supply store in Oakland, California, circa 1965. We got to talking and she told me that one, and also the use of the 37th Psalm for Uncrossing and Unjinxing. Where she learned these spells, i do not know -- i never thought to ask, in fact. Solomonic magic has been known and practiced in the hoodoo community for a long, long time, of course, so she might as easily have read the spells as learned them orally through the "folk process." Looking back on the incident, all i can tell you is that this woman and i were standing in the aisle of a candle store, and we got to talking. She was friendly, intelligent, well-spoken, knowledgable, and far older than i was -- and she laid this information on me...so i accepted her wisdom, but like the teenager i was, i memorized what she told me, thanked her, and never thought to ask her name or try to study with her. catherine yronwode Lucky Mojo Curio Co: http://www.luckymojo.com/luckymojocatalogue.html The Lucky W Amulet Archive: http://www.luckymojo.com/luckyw.html Sacred Sex: http://www.luckymojo.com/sacredsex.html The Sacred Landscape: http://www.luckymojo.com/sacredland.html Freemasonry for Women: http://www.luckymojo.com/comasonry.html Comics Warehouse: http://www.luckymojo.com/comicswarehouse.html check out news:alt.lucky.w for discussions on folk magic and luck
