If so, I need to spend much more time studying my English poets... And just as an idle question, if there were no Michael Moorcock and Hawkwind, would it be necessary for Chaos magicians to invent them ;-) I still remember buying the British import of "The Space Ritual" back in 1973 when the first copies hit American shores, and consider the fold-out "Chaos" shield on the inside cover of "Warrior on the Edge of Time" the first time I really spent time considering chaos as a creative energy. At the time it helped break me out of a Theosophical and Alice Bailey mindset, even before I discovered Crowley (mid-'70s, incidentally). Anyway, would it be a silly assumption on my part that Hawkwind have been a major formative influence on an awful lot of students and practitioners of Magick (and not just in England)?
