To: alt.lucky.w From: "John M Hansen"Subject: Re: recipe for blood ink? Date: Tue, 21 Sep 1999 00:24:02 -0400 Sour salt, citric Acid is the anti coagulant of choice in inks made of blood, human or otherwise. Make a saturated solution of Citric acid, which you can find labeled as sour salt in the Kosher food section of your supermarket. Add three drops to each approximate teaspoon of blood. (30ml) You may need more, but this much, if mixed in, will allow you to add more if needed. Doves blood ink is best made from ripe polk berries, which is what it was originally made from. This is a very permanent ink, samples of which over two hundred years old are still quite legible. Do not use on enamel coated paper. Ok for parchment and Papyrus however. Bat's blood ink should be drawn from the heart of the living bat by use of a hypodermic needle. If you are using this to make a Lamen for summoning, be careful that the drawing of the ink is done in the appropriate day and hour. You can keep it from coagulating by putting a ml of the citric acid solution into the hypodermic beforehand. Wolfs blood ink should be drawn from the aorta of the wolf, it's in about the same place it is on humans. -- Regards, John M Hansen
