If someone wanted to do a fake Necronomicon, I would recommend buying the Simon edition as a guide for what NOT to do. That it is a piece of claptrap should be immediately apparent to anyone who has seriously studied the occult. As for good hoaxes of the Necronomicon, have you seen Hay's (Skoob Esoterica, 1978), and its companion volume The R'lyeh Text (Skoob, 1995)? This is a wonderful piece of hoaxing which involves actual manuscripts written by Dee. Abaddon. -- "We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. . ." --H.P. Lovecraft
