I don't have the confidence that the figments and splinters of
character that come through usenet forums are sufficient to
resolve these matters. better taken to private email and handled
offline. if you agree with the assessment that you prefer thinking
and transpersonal psychology (implying, apparently, that you or
someone like you may find an encounter with the HGA in abstract 
and disconnected forms beneficial), then my reflections above and
below may be helpful. if you're convinced that a personal HGA is 
the most or least powerful, then my words may sound tame by 
contrast (because they relativize the experience to the character
of the mage).

all I was saying was that sometimes personal interactions are not
conducive to continued psychological integrity, for example, or
for resonance with an established, rigidified, and nonpersonalized
cosmological structure (for which such a personal interaction
would prove unsettling or, indeed, completely unhinging). it does
not make either personal or impersonal experiences of the HGA more
valuable. the 'career' of the magician and its trajectory will be
more like to determine these things.
