mu regarding the Lo Shu :
>>>>> 15 in rows and columns of that 492 (294?)
>>>>> magic square of Saturn, indeed.

that's two associations with the square. I'll bet there are hundreds,
many of them magical, some of them folkloric. if you know any more,
or could obtain them from source of which you are aware, contribute
here and we can catalogue a correspondence point for symbolic
association.

> I prefer I Ching to astrology because there is less math;

that's why the Taoist starts with something small, and works their
way up, or consumes it all in one gulp. and yet, when I first read
this, I thought you meant Chinese astrology. so then what if you
are mistaken, and I Ching *is* a kind of astrology? have you ever
seen ancient circular diagrams with 64 hexagrams divided into
12 sets of 5 + 4 cardinal directionals? the central 12 hexagrams
in one featured on Master Huang's Numerology dustjacket symbolize a
T'ai Chi-type dual-centered progression of either solid or broken
lines in 6-hexagram series, (clockwise from Wen: 1-43-34-11-19-24
and 2-26-9-12-33-44; counterclockwise Binary: 64-63-62-61-60-59
and 0-1-2-3-4-5 -- a significance of form and number) surrounded as
a whole by "28 constellations of ancient Chinese astrology" (Huang).
this is Taoist and it is quite simple and it might be the basis for
I Ching Astrology (e.g. seasons + constellations). is such a thing
fleshed out and real? I'd like to see evidence of it, as well as
its aged status.

> even Chinese astrology is much simpler than 'Western'.

it is? damn, with 5 elements, it seems a bit more complex,
actually, especially if you're centered around Jupiter in
one consideration (Birth Year) and another for Natal charts,
plus cycling an element in time to pair up with your birth
element (5x5 instead of 4x4) and increase and expand on the
significance of any number of planetary influences (if Jupiter
why not Saturn or even Luna?!)

and especially if the whole is contained in an I Ching chart.
now you're really starting to get complex. not sure they'd be
identical at that point, however. perhaps a spot I can't see.

mu somewhat tentatively (still unsure where I saw the inverso):

really? that's interesting. in which of his works did you read this?
