Mordred

This material covers both Carolingian and Arthurian arguments, as
well as literary bastardy; it is not complete but is a good start
with lots of translations into English as well as European materials.
The second item (ed. Lacy) is the English 5 vol. translation to which
I refer you for the first appearance of Mordred as Arthur's son.
Feel free to archive it; it's not necessary to attribute it to me.
If you'd rather have an html version, I can run it through a macro
to html, since it has foreign language characters.

You may find the concept of "repeated sin" (multiple generations of
sinners) and the idea of inherited sin useful to your meditations.
Happy reading.
