"History of the King's |of Britain" by Geoffrey of Monmouth, "Le Morte D'Arthur" by Sir Thomas |Malory.... "The Arthurian Encyclopedia" .... |...Merlin intrigues me the most. But he is so mysterious that it's hard |to learn about him.... I would like any suggestions for factual or |really good fiction about Merlin, and any Arthurian books that are a must. Nice assortment. I'm surprised you haven't read the aforementioned _Once and Future King_ (I'm in the middle of reading it again and I don't usually read thick books!) by T.H.White. White's writing style is quite excellent, and I'm glad to hear about his influence upon Disney's flick (I'll have to see that sometime). Two nonfiction authors of fair repute follow (I'll add this post to the Usenet Archive). 1) Nikolai (son of Leo!) Tolstoy's _In Search Of Merlin_ and 2) a couple of books by R.J. Stewart on the modern magical value of Merlin and interaction with him: _The Mystic Life of Merlin_ _The Prophetic Vision of Merlin_ I've been collecting posts from this and other forums relevant to an examination of the life and personalty of Merlin/Myrddin, which may be found at: ftp://ftp.hollyfeld.org/pub/Esoteric/Usenet/Mythology/ tyagi@houseofkaos.abyss.com nagasiva
