I too, remember when it was new, and Tamar is correct. However, quite by chance, the resulting sign is identical with a sign in R. Koch's _Book of Signs_ which is named something like "The Witch's Foot." Since a Dover reprint of Koch's book has long been in print, it was only a matter of time until someone would note the similarity and try to use it to discredit the peace movement. This, too, I seem to remember, did not take too long to happen. Finally, runes being shaped as they are, the inside of the peace symbol can easily be re-interpreted as a rune or a combination of runes (bind-rune). -- Robert (Robert Mathiesen, SL500000@BROWNVM.BITNET)
